he plans to have the District 9 Tourney again
at Las Vegas on Monday, October 6th thru Wednesday, October 8th,
2014. It
will be held at the same hotel Travelodge, (Travelsuites Inn), 2830 Las Vegas
Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89109. (map) Same place as last year
with good room rates with free playing room and next to Circus
Circus. Phone number is 702-735-4222 and ask for
checker tournament rate.
You get Sunday through Thursday special room rates at
$39/day (including Sunday 10/5 before the tourney and through
Thursday October 9th), and $55 on Friday and Saturday nights for those wanting an
extended stay in the heart of Fabulous Las Vegas Strip. Most players
will arrive Sunday, October 5th. We’ll
have a ball. Bring family and friends for an inexpensive vacation.
We’re expecting some strong players this year.
Players from all districts are invited to attend.
When making your reservations, mention you and your friends are checker player for
the special rates. Families can enjoy the outstanding free
performances at the Circus Circus which goes on most of the day.
Tourney play starts at 10 am on Monday, Play will be 3-Move.
The entry fee is $20, there will be two classes: Masters &
Non-Masters. The weather is usually very good at the end of
September & 1st week of October. The pool is small but it's wet, fun, & comes with the
venue package!

District 9 includes: Alaska, Arizona, California,
Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington,
and Wyoming. Non-district residents are welcome to compete and enjoy
